Forgen Ventus 30 (previously Forgen 500NT)

These machines are dedicated trickle chargers for single battery and battery bank installations up to 400Ah. Applications range from specialist governmental scientific research to recreational sailors wishing to maintain a charge on their remote/off grid sites.  Whilst producing lower output than similarly sized horizontal axis turbines, there are a number of benefits of the vertical axis machines over that of horizontal axis type design including:
safer to touch if in operation (if accidentally handled),lower noise and vibration and higher efficiency in turbulent wind.
The design of the machines is such that in extreme wind conditions the turbine is self regulating. The electronic circuitry is also internally protected against overload, so neither machine requires an external regulator to be fitted.

The FORGEN Ventus 30 is designed as a professional trickle charger providing up to 20 Amp/Hr in a 24hr. period.  The Ventus 30 can be operated with up to 150Amp/Hr of batteries.

The use of a FORGEN ensures easy start up after overnight or week long mooring of sailing craft. Parked caravans, electric fence units, sea buoys or other remotely situated electronic equipment are also typical uses for the FORGEN especially in situations where total reliability and durability is required. The generator circuit is designed so that the battery cannot be overcharged and is self adjusting for 12 or 24 Volt batteries. Utilising well-engineered sealed bearings, a simple yet robust construction and an efficient, carefully-balanced generator all combine to make a machine that is  dependable, yet effective. Add encapsulated electrical components and the unit is virtually maintenance free.
